Most operators run a different vendor for each network generation. The result is several contracts, several integration projects, and a vendor change every time the network moves forward. Ouroboros delivers the full core stack on one platform, so you do not change vendor between 2G and 5G.

We've selected Ouroboros because it was the best company capable of fulfilling our need for a scalable and virtualised full MVNO platform. Moreover, the Ouroboros team is pragmatic, flexible and responsive.

A mobile core is rarely bought once. It is assembled over years, generation by generation. The 2G nodes came from one vendor. The 4G core came from another. The 5G functions are being scoped now, and the shortlist looks like a third vendor again.
Each generation brings its own contract, its own support desk, and its own integration project. The interfaces between them become your problem to manage. When one vendor reaches end of life on a component, you are negotiating a forklift upgrade instead of a swap.
The tier-1 vendors are built for this fragmentation. Their pricing and their minimum scale are sized for 50M-subscriber national networks. If you are not that operator, you are paying for an architecture you did not ask for.
You do not need ten vendor relationships to run a network. You need one core that covers the generations you run today and the ones you will run next.
The full Ouroboros core covers 2G through 5G as a single in-house stack. Every key element runs on the same platform, AMTP, under one vendor relationship.
2G/3G core. HLR, MSC/VLR, GMSC, SMSC, USSD Gateway, SCP, EIR, STP, GGSN. The subscriber registry, voice switching, messaging, and packet data for legacy generations.
4G/LTE core. HSS, vEPC, PDN-GW, PCRF, DRA, OCS. The evolved packet core, subscriber server, policy, charging, and Diameter routing for LTE.
5G core functions. SMF, UPF, and the wider 5G control and user plane. The functions that carry data sessions and session management for 5G.
All elements speak standard interfaces: SS7, SIGTRAN, Diameter, SIP. They interwork with what you already run, and they interwork with each other without bespoke integration between generations.
Deploy on bare metal COTS, VMware, KVM, Docker, Kubernetes, or public cloud across AWS, Azure, and OpenStack. Take it as OPEX rental or as a CAPEX licence. The platform is built on 378 man-years of R&D and tracks 3GPP up to v19, ETSI, IETF RFC, GSMA, and ITU-T.
Every key element of the core runs on AMTP under a single vendor relationship. You buy the generations you run now and extend into the next ones on the same software, rather than running a fresh procurement each time the network advances.
You have 2G/3G from one supplier and 4G from another, and the support contracts do not line up. Consolidating onto one core reduces the number of contracts, support desks, and inter-vendor interfaces you manage. One platform, one relationship.
Your 5G plan does not have to start with a fresh procurement. The 5G functions sit on the same platform as your existing core, so you extend the network you have rather than bolting on a separate stack from a separate supplier.
You need national-network reliability but you are not a national-network buyer. Ouroboros delivers carrier-grade capability at a scale and price tier the tier-1 vendors do not serve. You get the standards compliance and the production references without the seven-figure entry point.
One node is going end of life and the vendor wants a wholesale upgrade. Individual core elements connect over standard interfaces, so you can swap the failing component and leave the rest of the network in place.
Most cores are bought in pieces, a vendor per generation, and the cost of that fragmentation is rarely on the invoice. It shows up later: in the interfaces you maintain between suppliers, the support desks that do not coordinate, and the forklift quote that arrives when one vendor retires a component.
Ouroboros removes the fragmentation rather than the scale. Full 2G-to-5G coverage means you keep one vendor across every generation, not a fresh procurement each time the network advances. One platform means one support relationship and one set of elements that interwork without bespoke glue between them.
The coverage is not theoretical. The platform has run in production since 2004, and the 378 man-years of R&D behind it track 3GPP up to release 19, which is what lets a single stack carry a network from a 2G HLR to a 5G UPF.
Most operators inherit a vendor per generation and live with the contracts that come with it. If you are scoping 5G, replacing an end-of-life node, or consolidating a mixed estate, the question is whether you keep buying a vendor per generation or move to one core that covers them all. Tell us what you run today and we will map it against a single-platform core.
