M2M is not mobile telephony with a different label. Your subscribers are devices meters, trackers, industrial modules, vehicles roaming across countries and networks, with a connectivity cost per device that has to stay inside an ROI measured in cents. That makes multi-IMSI SIM management a requirement, not a feature: one SIM attaching to the best network in each market, with its identity switchable remotely.

You also manage the fleet at distance — activate, suspend, change profile, control fraud on hardware you will never physically reach. Charging is prepaid, because that keeps per-device economics honest. And the radio mix is rarely one technology: GSM, LTE and LP-WAN run together. Most core vendors treat all of this as edge cases. For you it is the whole business.

The AMTP core handles multi-IMSI and multi-identity SIM management directly, with per-VPLMN roaming control to steer each SIM to the right partner network in each market. Connectivity management runs across the fleet without physical access. Charging is prepaid through the online charging system, and the platform supports a hybrid GSM, LTE and LP-WAN estate on one core rather than a separate stack per radio type.
